Hi,

I just had the forum installed by GoDaddy onto my server.

It all appears to work except there is no main logo at the top of the page.

Looking at the source it says:

YetAnotherForum

...etc

How can I get the logo to work or use my own site logo on it?

Thanks.

Open the file "default.aspx" with Visual Studio or Notepad (in the rrot of your installation".You see something like this at the bottom of code lines:

        <YAF:Forum runat="server" ID="forum"></YAF:Forum>

The line YetAnotherForum controls what you want.The default banner is located in the "images" folder and is called "YAFLogo.jpg"

Thanks Herman-Herman for the reply.

I thought as much when I edited that line before I posted the Q earlier. I just checked it again and it says the same as your answer.

To make sure I wasn't trippin', I changed it to ~/images/logo.jpg and made sure the image with that name was in the folder, but nothing changed.

So I do a 'View Source in I.E.', and the code looks like:

Quote:

content="Yet Another Forum.net, Forum, ASP.NET, BB, Bulletin Board, opensource" />
Junk Swap

YetAnotherForum

I'm sorry, but I know 'Classic ASP' pretty well, but not ASP.Net. Does it need recompiling or something?

Yours, confused,

Batman.

Right click on that vacant place click "Properties" and see what is the Address(URL).It should be something like:

http://testforum.yetanotherforum.net/images/YAFLogo.jpg

Some of the themes in 1.9.1.8 are missing this from their XML file

<page name="FORUM">
    <Resource tag="BANNER">images/YAFLogo.jpg</Resource>
  </page>

Look at the first couple of lines in the different theme xml files and you will see.

Change the path in the tag to where you have placed your image.

If you uncheck the allow theme logo in the forum edit screen the from default.aspx will be shown

you can also set the image path there if you want the same image in all themes.

HTH

Oops... it just stopped with a message not unlike this, having added the code:

There has been a serious error loading the forum. No further information is available.

I just removed the lines added and pressed 'Try Again', but the message stays there.

It seems to have died altogether.

- Just checked the file with the copy I made before I touched anything and it's exactly the same.

Long live Classic ASP :(

Sorry, looks like your using 1.9.3

<Resources theme="YAF Pro" dir="yafpro">
  <page name="THEME">
    <Resource tag="HEADER">
      <script type="text/javascript" src="~/reflection.js"></script>
    </Resource>
    <Resource tag="CREDIT">YAFPro Theme Created by Jaben Cargman (<a href='http://www.tinygecko.com'>Tiny Gecko</a>)</Resource>
  </page>
    <page name="FORUM">
        <Resource tag="BANNER">yaf.png</Resource>
    </page>

Add your image where yaf.png is

check the box allow themed logo in the Admin - Boardsettings

add your image to YAFPRO folder.

If image doesnt appear goto Admin - Hostsettings - Cache tab and clear cache

Should do it.

Hi,

I added that, with the reference to the logo file that I called logo.jpg.

When I go to the board URL, the same message appears on the screen, i.e.

There has been a serious error loading the forum. No further information is available.

Please contact the administrator if this message persists.

Try Again

Regards,

Batman

In web.config change this line to Off and post up the full error

in

<customErrors defaultRedirect="Error.aspx" mode="Off"/>

Hi Logan,

I did that and the error said there was white space before the declaration in the XML. I removed the line feed on line 1 and it came back, but still no logo at top left hand corner.

The top of the XML file is as follows:

--------------------------------------------

YAFPro Theme Created by Jaben Cargman (Tiny Gecko)

logo.jpg

~/icon_pm.png

~/icon_email.png

~/icon_home.png

~/icon_blog.png

~/icon_msn.png

~/icon_aim.png

-------------------------------

I tried inserting images/logo.jpg, : images/logo.jpg

but didn't make any difference.

Thank you for your help,

Batman.
