We have a forum where users can register but their account has to be verified before they can post to the forums.

Is automatic verification possible?

Ie anybody with the email extension @MyOwnBusiness.com can register and post straight away, but @hotmail.com has to be verified?

No, it is not impossible. It is just not possible without any modification to the source code. Technically you only need to modify a few lines of code.
