You need to add the file extensions to the list of allowed file extensions.

- Go to Admin -> Settings -> File Extensions yourdomain.com/yaf_admin_extensions.aspx
- Click on "Add" and enter the extensions you want to add
- Then you are able to attach any file you want to a message.

Thank you for the information. However, I am still having issues uploading.. I thought I should be able to upload word, excel or other docs in my albums is this incorrect? If so where should I upload my documents, schedules, events calendar and so on?

Please reply and thank you

No, the albums are only for Images. You can only attach such files to a message inside a topic. bellow the Editor on the on the post message page there is an Option, "Attach files to the post?", after you click Post, you will be redirected to the Page where you can upload files.

Hello. Thank you for the input. However this is not working. First where do I find the text editor. I went into what I thought was text editor and did not have an option to attach documents. This forum is being published for state law enforcement updating on a project. I really need a tutorial or screen shots to make certain I do not lose any more time getting my documents uploaded. Time is of the essence and I look forward to a prompt reply.

Ok I attached two screenshot the First shows the Attach Button where you can attach Files to an existing post.
And Second one is the checkbox bellow the texteditor (Where you enter your message).

By default i thing the button and the checkbox doesnt show up because you need to enable the attach Files Permission to any role that you want. For example if you want to enable it for all registered users, that they should be allowed to upload and attach files to there posts you need.
You need to go to the Admin Page -> Users and Roles -> Access Masks -> and Set Upload to true.

On which access mask did you enable access?

Member, and Admin Access Mask should have Upload Access. And make also sure Member and Admin Access Mask are applied to the Member and Admin Roles on every forum.

When you are using YAF 1.9.5.5 you also need to manually Clear the Access Cache, as workaround go to Admin -> Settings - > Forums -> Click on Edit to edit a forum -> On the Edit Forum Page Click save to Clear the Cache.
