It's not in the immediate roadmap for v2.0, no. But, taking the long view, yes, I'd like to move the project in that direction.

I'm building my site with MVC3/Razor and it would be really nice if there was an option to integrate the forum into it...
At the moment I do plain old HTML hacks to keep the forum page looking the same as the main Razor layout....

If there is a way to encapsulate the forum default.aspx into a default.cshtml - that would be good enough for me... 😉

I believe there is... I need to do more investigation.

Is there any progress in this? Will migrate to the razor? It would be very cool.

No progress, no. Just trying to get a regular release out the door. YAF.NET still has bigger fish to fry: getting the database layer under control... but I've made big strides in that regard.

As with all things: you are welcome to assist. My time for YAF.NET is very limited. Taking the other libraries (YAF.Core, YAF.Types, etc) and just tossing the existing YAF web form library, you could pretty quickly have something workable.

A good example with Umbraco, but not all projects are cormercially oriented, some are simply developers toys.
For those who want an MVC forum there's a free forum, maybe in future it even will be a YAF competitor.
At least the guy well knows in what direction to go to be useful. I look with attention at his efforts

My goal for YAF.NET is a hybrid: Core would move to WebAPI/JSON calls for data retrieval.

An MVC or updated WebForm (or mobile, or whatever) very thin layer would sit on that. Probably provide an option.

The server stuff can all be collected in "YAF.Core" -- move all that logic out of the forms and into the client side.

If you look at the direction of his latest commits, he's moving to a repository pattern for all his models.

With the rant of a forum and a handful of users he currently has he can move here and there several times.

Options are always good, but if the project is going well, why rewrite it needlessly?
