Another issue I had with the upgrade was with full text searching. A user was receiving a search error. I tested it from my admin account and got this error: Code:System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Execution of a full-text operation failed. The catalog does not exist or is currently unavailable. Please retry the action again later and if this symptom persists, contact the system administrator. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.HasMoreRows() at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.ReadInternal(Boolean setTimeout) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.Read() at System.Data.Common.DataAdapter.FillLoadDataRow(SchemaMapping mapping) at System.Data.Common.DataAdapter.FillFromReader(DataSet dataset, DataTable datatable, String srcTable, DataReaderContainer dataReader, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, DataColumn parentChapterColumn, Object parentChapterValue) at System.Data.Common.DataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, String srcTable, IDataReader dataReader, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.FillInternal(DataSet dataset, DataTable[] datatables, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet) at YAF.Classes.Data.DBAccess.GetDatasetBasic(SqlCommand cmd, Boolean transaction) at YAF.Classes.Data.DBAccess.GetData(SqlCommand cmd, Boolean transaction) at YAF.Classes.Data.DB.GetSearchResult(String toSearchWhat, String toSearchFromWho, SearchWhatFlags searchFromWhoMethod, SearchWhatFlags searchWhatMethod, Int32 forumIDToStartAt, Int32 userID, Int32 boardId, Int32 maxResults, Boolean useFullText) at YAF.Pages.search.SearchBindData(Boolean newSearch)
It looked like there was something wrong with the full text catalog. I disabled the full text search feature and the search worked again. Turned out, I needed to rebuild full text catalog on the db. I re-enabled the full text feature and retested the search... everything appears to be fine now.

herman_herman wrote: Looks like you already have a web.config file in your wwwroot folder.Make your forum folder an application directory in IIS.
That's right. There's a web.config in wwwroot. I think my /forum folder is already setup as an application. I have "The designated directory selected. Local path is prefilled and uneditable '/forum'. Application name = 'forum'. Starting point = '<Default Web Site>\forum' Execute permissions = 'Scripts only' Application pool = 'DefaulAppPool' Am I not in the right area? EDIT: By the way, I'm having the same problem as before. EDIT: Am I supposed to merge web.conf with the wwwroot web.conf and replace it? What if that's not an option? There are other settings in there for other apps that I don't want to touch.

I'm upgrading from v1.9.1.8 to the newest v1.9.3. I've followed the installation instructions. However, I'm getting the following error when going to the /install directory to perform the upgrade: Code:Server Error in '/forum' Application. Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433 Any help is greatly appreciated. I've reverted back to my backup of v1.9.1.8, until I get this resolved. EDIT: I'm trying to use *v191-upgrade-web.config. I didn't merge any changes, as I compared line by line and the only differences appear to be either new features, or things that should replace my old config file. Thanks. EDIT (6/25/09): I ended up getting this working by merging the web.config from /forum with / and it worked fine. Gladly, none of my other apps were using the /web.config so technically, I could have just replaced it with the one from yafnet.

That's not true across the board. DDR3 is not cheap. DD2 is cheap... but it could be an older server which requires DDR. Not always true... but given the specs he mentioned, I figured it was DDR or DDR2, both are very affordable right now.

I tried to move a topic, but the statistics and last post information were not updated. On the main page of the forum, it showed the last post as the thread that I moved to a different forum. Also, the stats of the forum that I moved the topic from still included the moved topic.

Tnk's What did you do to resolve this? I had this error in my testing forum and this option isn't enabled on the production one for this reason.

I'm on 1.9.1.8. I'm also seeing this behavior. I looked into the active rss feed and it looks like it's just looping through the feeds in forward order. It looks like it's designed specifically to show them in the this order.
Anyway, it would also be nice to see the user who made the post in the title (useful when using Firefox Live Bookmarks which only show the title).

agibby5 wrote:When I installed .8, I was prompted with the install screen. It notes that if you're upgrading it will perform differently than if you were just installing. I believe that it runs the new scripts to install the changes into the database from .6 to .8. Also: Mek wrote:yup, the order to be run is on the forums somewhere or just try running /install/default.aspx?forceupgrade=1
