Hello,

Well I upgraded from 1.9.1.8 to 1.9.3 and it went so smoothly I am sure something would go wrong, but no works perfectly! Thanks guys!!
I prefer 1.9.3 much more than 1.9.1.8, job well done.

Only snag I have (probably me doing something wrong) is the URL rewriting is not redering the links as SEO, they all default to "default.aspx....". I have set EnableURLReWriting in app.config but still doesn't render the links correctly, any ideas what Ihave missed? It worked fine in 1.9.1.8.

Cheers.

I'm getting a compilation error when I run the install for 1.9.1.8 to 1.9.3 RC2 update.

I have 3.5 installation on my website and have a separate web.config. I have the YAF installed on ~/forums which I also have a separate web.config.
I tried uncommenting the assemblies section where they might collide and even deleting the ~/forums web.config but still with no luck.

What can I do to solve this issue?

Code:

Compiler Error Message: CS0433: The type 'System.Web.UI.ScriptManager' exists in both 'c:\windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\3.5.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Extensions.dll' and 'c:\windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\1.0.61025.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Extensions.dll'

I wrote up some detailed instructions on compiling 1.9.3RC2 and integrating it into your existing .NET 3.5 website. I did it for my own future reference, but I realize it might help others out there. Check it out at:

And a big thanks to the YAF developers for such great open-source software!

When I post fp:mddubs in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Mek Smile, who stole this off Ederon Smile )

Please make a topic in the v1.9.3 section tiled "Compiling v1.9.3 with .NET v3.5" -- I can explain how there.

I'd really like to use this beta. Has any good soul put together a "step by step" for upgrading to 1.9.3? I don't want to blow out my current install. I'm not concerned about losing it, as I always back it up, but ...

I think I may have found what I"m looking for. Is this the "step by step" to upgrade my 1.9.1.8 to 1.9.3?

Hey at least we are in RC. I can't wait myself but don't rush them. I'm sure they are all working hard at it.

I don't see the point/need, YAF is secondary to paid work for which we have deadlines/new priorities all the time. Having public deadlines means we'd constantly be saying "Uhm sorry guys" at the moment since we're all involved in pretty major paid projects.

Quite frankly without Jaben putting an immense effort in it wouldn't be this far ahead of 1.93's life cycle. If YAF was a paid gig, you'd have all the public deadlines in the world. Smile

Actually, a lot of the current "wait period" is realizing that "FINAL" is just a label. Mostly, I put some distance between releases so the community can test and report back on issues. If you want to move final along quicker, you could help by testing the Release Candidate.

Remember, I have very few resources and little time. In this economy, I have to keep my clients pretty happy.
