Hello and thanks in advance for any help.
I have YAF integrated with my .NET 3.5 application, using my own custom membership provider and asp.net's default profile and role provider.
The integration has been successful and it is functional.
However when I went to change an existing member's username, suddenly they lost access to the forum. I went and made the username change in Yaf_Users but it did not fix.
Please, what do I need to do to allow this user to regain access?
Thanks, Marco

You need to make the changes to several tables, and not just the user name, but also the unique ID value (if I'm not mistaken). The simplest way to do what you want is create a new user, then run an update on posted content changing the userid in question. You can modify the "date created" of the user in question to maintain longevity. .....the man in black fled across the desert..........and the gunslinger followed.....

Hi,
How come the feature to change username in the previous version was removed in v1.9.3? Can we make it still available in v1.9.3?

Because the default ASP.NET Membership provider does not have this ability built in. Previous versions used a YAF-internal membership system, not .NET. Changing a user is no easy task. Simplest thing to do is create a new user, as I stated earlier. .....the man in black fled across the desert..........and the gunslinger followed.....
