I have DNN 4.8.4 installed and working using my host. Now I want to install YAF (latest version) and have it in DNN. I am just not clear on the steps and I am very new to use .NET and IIS. Been using Apache stuff for some time so this is new to me. Let me know if these are the steps I follow.
1. Install YAF and get it working in a subdirectory using the install directions provided.
2. Install and configure the DNN module?
Thanks Azzlano

You need to use yaf dnn-module; not the standalone package. so the steps are: 1. Install yaf dnn module (http://forum.yetanotherforum.net/yaf_postst4890_YAF-v1918-for-NET-v20-Dated3272008.aspx). 2. put the module on a page and configure it. 3. enjoy it ... But trust me on the sunscreen!

ok I logged into DNN as a host, went to module definitions, selected install new module, browsed to the zip file and it uploaded everything.
I made the changes to the file but the name does not appear in the list of modules.
did I miss something?

You made change to what file? Web.config? While installing - were there any messages? Have you tried restarting the iis? ... But trust me on the sunscreen!

the web.config file I added those 2 lines. I think I forgot the definitions maybe that is why.
I added the connstr settings ot the dnnyafnet.config. I am assuming source is the SQL server name that is.
The install messages all said successful.
Have not restarted IIS yet.
as an FYI I am using a hosting service.

Well I am not allowed to restart IIS service. I am on a shared hosting plan.
Anything else I can try? I see the 2 lines that needed to be added and I added them to the web.config file the same way they are in the dnn.config file.

ok I think I have it isntalled somewhat correctly now.
I am adding it as a module and it starts with an installation wizard.
I click next for Step 1 and it says I should rename the Default.config file to web.config but that file doesn't exist.
Is there a certain procedure to follow when you get to the installation process when using the DNN module?
Thanks for your help.

as an FYI I am using a hosting service. Just saving web.config restarts it. Older versions of dnn had a file upgrade.aspx that let anyone restart the web service just by re-saving iis. I'm glad you solved it. ... But trust me on the sunscreen!
