Ash, can you create a full copy of your website (copy forum files and mssql database file)? Then try this exact copy on another machine, eg win2000, xp pro or vista. If it is there as slow as on the server it cant have anything to do with the operating system or iis version. And you can provide the files to help debugging and find the error
test2005, what do you mean with "... is running W2k3 and it's NOT fully patched (for .Net), ...". Patched for .Net? Have you an example? Never heard about this. hi tommy i tired on another server and its giving the same issue, i will try on vista machine and let you know whats going to happen, if you would like i can give you the files , but its the exact same 1.9.3 beta source code without any modifications.. anyway after doing a couple of testing and installs (new/upgrades), new installs are fine , but when upgrading using my old DB (1.9. i ve found the following: when ever i open a page in the fourm : (a post / a user profile / PM msg) when ever this page contains a [img] tag with a remote picture (like Code:[img]www.anotherdomain.com/img.jpg[/img] ) , even in remote avatars ; the forum start acting slow and eventually show the internet explorer cannot display the webpage , so what i did i opened the db and manually removed all [img] tags from one users profile , then opened a post and removed [img] tags, and guess what , the profile/post i modified displays fine , but as soon as i open another page with [img] tags , things goes bad again. what could be the problem Visit my Forums: FORUMZ360.com

Are you sure you don't have anything else in your data causing the "new" forum to look elsewhere for "something". On a domain that no longer exists or is accessible? .....the man in black fled across the desert..........and the gunslinger followed.....

Jaben has told earlier in here that the bbcode processing is reworked. maybe a problem with it? I have had a quick look at it, but anything seems to be fine. I can create cross-site image tags as well without problems (clean 1.9.3 Beta install, now running on RC1) Maybe one of the dev team can check this?! - Sry for my english BattCursor.Net - Official homepage of that tool for vista laptops!

Where can I download RC1? Does it differ much from the last beta?

Here only the beta is 'released'. the RC1 lies (still unpublished, @jaben: your 'day or two' is over ) as uncompiled source in the SourceForge SVC. I haven't tracked the changes. But some bug fixes I have noticed - Sry for my english BattCursor.Net - Official homepage of that tool for vista laptops!

Not sure if this will help, but I had a similar problem. It ended up being application isolation with YAF embedded with another app! Making sure the application name and authentication cookie name was unique to the server solved my problem. Also, if your running Firefox, the latest version of Firebug causes me no end of headaches!! Disable it while browsing the forum. .....the man in black fled across the desert..........and the gunslinger followed.....
