Good job, I do however find it a bit difficult to read the text and wouldn't like to read it for a long length of time. It's my only criticism of an excellent piece of work.

"It's a case of RTFM.. the only problem being we don't have a manual!"

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon Smile )

Hey I don't know if you did this on purpose or not, but did you know on your site, you can move the images, like under "User Panel" It let me move those images, I was using IE 7.

Very, very cool!! Cool Cool Cool

Mek has a point, the contrast between items is very low. I'd reduce the brightness on everything about 20%. You'd have the same color, just darker.

Not entirely sure why you'd want someone to have the ability to move the images around. My users would freak-out if I added this! Shocked

On losing your data, there are 3 rules you have broken!

1. Always backup your production data!

2. See rule 1

3. Still confused? Read rule 1 again!!!!!!

You only ever ahve to lose alot of data once, and that's the last time!! Hard leason, but a valuable one.

The shout box is outstanding!! I think I'll have a play adding it myself. I think it would also make a great addition to YAF as a "configurable on/off option". If you have time (and the energy!) try doing a "How to add a shout box.." instruction manual and related documentation and add it here, or better yet put it here (http://wiki.yetanotherforum.net)

Again, very very cool! Well done!

thanks test2005
i liked the backup 3 rules lol, and i ve learned my lesson, i am backing up regularly,
about the contrast, i have like 3 stations at work and my laptop, so between theses 4 stations 2 of them shows nice contrast and everything looks clear, but the other 2 are very light.
at one point i made it darker, and most users complained about that is is very dark and the old colors looks much better ... so i was going back and forth between each user prefernce,
i am going to try something that would work on all kind of monitors and video boards
i am thinking about creating two themes , a dark one and a light one

glad you guys liked it

good work, very clean looking. The contrast looks good on my machine, although I can see what they mean.

Thank you thank you, all kind words are much appreciated...we will be rolling out version 2.0 (kinda 3.0, but we will call it 2.0 since the first design (1.0 only lasted a month)) hopefully this summer, a much fresher look. We plan on getting rid of a lot of clutter and some hacky stuff we are doing. Version 3.0 will be faster, prettier and hopefully easier to navigate and so forth.

Between myself (design/content/development) and the head developer Chris (development/content/design) we like to think we are doing pretty good. This is our first true .net site, personally before Chris I have run this music site (under a different name) for 8 years which included html and php. However, until Thrash neither of us really developed for .net. Basically our development process went something like this:

1. get out of work
2. code/design
3. prototype code/design
4. drink
5. piss all over the design/code
6. drink
7. redesign
8. show up to work tired
9. at work, work on design/code
10. quite job / get new jobs
11. code/design
12. test
13. release
14. re-release
15. drink way to much
16. fix to make better
17. this is where we are...been a crazy first 9 months Smile
