I'm trying to get more info on SSIS. Is it a separate product from MS or part of SQL Server Enterprise? Where do I find it?

It is part of SS2K5 and must be installed.

Found it - thanks Dan. Just been playing with it. I see how you can map tables to tables to transfer data and I see that it has conversion objects as well. I just tried converting a string to datetime but it failed - I assume that this happened because the date format in the string is an invalid one.

Use the following to get hold of the current unstable version of 1.93 Smile It may compile, it may not. Depends at the time of downloading Smile.

http://forum.yetanotherf...ing-SVN-Subversion.aspx

I'm a bit undecided whether you should use 1.93 to do the conversion atm, on the plus side it means you'll be designing it for the latest version of YAF (even though its not released yet), but there will be many bugs in 1.93 so you won't know whether its you or us that caused them.

I'll leave the decision up to you.

I am about 75% done with a conversion from snitz to yaf 1.9.1.7 and have a question on the flag columns.

Are these flag values defined for yaf_User and other tables located somewhere? There is no definition for them and can only go by what I see in the stored procs. Any help on them would be greatly appreciated.

Easiest way is the to find the relevant class for the flag's in the full source version I think.. if you haven't got them by the weekend I'll pull them out for you.

If you get the snitz to YAF conversion done, I will convert my database.

I've been looking for a good .NET forum software to replace my old tired snitz version...

Hows the conversion going? Did you Quit? Can you share with us to see if we can help you.

There is a Snitz .Net (http://snitz.reddiweb.com/) version that uses ASP Membership. Maybe we could update the Snitz ASP to .NET then use the ASP Membership for YAF and the only convert the Posts/etc.

Peter share with us what you have and we may try to help.

I'm using Snitz and I would love to change to YAF.

I'd love to see how this turned out as well...Snitz forums just got hacked (PITA to restore, but I did) and I'm about ready to make the switch. Any insight into this?

Thanks...

I have s Snitz Conversion script mostly done, but I need assistance on how to setup the membership provider tables so it works with SHA256 password encryption.

- How can I generate the UserID in TSQL? Can it be any random VCHAR? Will I have to do this in .net?
- I am not sure how to map the SHA256 password in snitz to the Password and Salt fields in the membership provider

Bump Again.... Please. Has anyone got this to work. I really want to move away from Snitz and really don't to pay $399 for a tool to convert to Community Server. I want to use YAF.

It seams that passwords are the issue. What if they are just set to new random passwords, or force users to reset them.

I'm ready to be a Ginnie pig for this tool. Thanks

Chris
