Hello YAF Community, YetAnotherForum.NET is moving to my hosting. Bjørnar has been working on getting me all the current site and forum data so that I can start putting up on my hosting. He already gave me the forum data -- so the latest posts may not show up on the new forum. I've already put up the forum even though the domain isn't transferred yet. You can check it out here: A big thank you to Bjørnar for all his hard work on this wonderful piece of forum software over the years. Now, let's get to the business of give this project a new life! *cheers for both Jaben and Bjørnar and moves accross the new forum* "It's a case of RTFM.. the only problem being we don't have a manual!" When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon )

Update: I'm having problems with the domain transfer unfortunately. I'm working on v1.5 of YAF for NET v2.0. It does not use NET v2.0 authentication like v1.92 -- but it's also stable and doesn't require the database being upgraded. Basically, people could upgrade to it now. I will be offering up a roadmap when I figure out what I feel needs to get done first. YetAnotherForum.NET domain is now on my servers... Welcome to dedicated, clustered, multi-server goodness. "Honesty may be the best policy, but it’s important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy." -- George Carlin

This forum is one of the best things, that I have seen for asp.net! There were a lot of forums for php, and finally .net have its free forum too! (But It is very important to support .net 2.0 ). Am i right? Will it stay free? And I have some other questions. Where can I download version 1.5.0? Can I download the source? Can I participate, to help this project (but i am vb.net pro :d ) Thanks Artashes

I'm still working on v1.5.0 for NET v2.0. As you can tell there are still a few issues to resolve. I would like to release it here this week though. The source to v1.5.0 is available via anonymous CVS on sourceforge. v1.5.0 is on the branch "1_0_2_NETv2". I might go back to making a nightly tarball for ease of downloading too. Also, I will be making the full source for v1.5.0 available once I release it this week. Congrats everyone on the personal feelings best .net forum. I am coming from the phpBB side and have successfully transfered everything to the 1.1 version. The problem is I am using 2.0 for the site I am building. The way I understand it is 1.5 will work with .net 2.0. To make a long story short is I was looking for the version 1.5 at source forge through the cvs. I was unable to find it. I am developing my site with 2.0. The reason I am in some sort of hurry is I just got approved for gmail's site mail. Basically it is a hosted mail solution where you can provide your users email in the form of GMail but use your domain. In a nutshell you use username@<domainname> instead of username@gmail.com. What I want to do is create a module that when someone signs up on my forum they automatically get a gmail account created. Don't worry everyone, I will post the module when I am finished. Thanks,

Thanks, Like I mentioned above, you can access v1.5.0 RC1 via CVS on SF. (Branch v1_0_2NETv2) Or you can send me an e-mail and I'll email you the latest. Currently there is one big issues: the fact that NET v2.0 doesn't appear to use the login "remember me" cookie. so when will this new build be issued? I have a project I have to use YAF in and it'll be customized in such a way I bet it'll be very hard/impossible to upgrade once it's in.

Jaben wrote:I'm still working on v1.5.0 for NET v2.0. First off, thanks for taking over the project, jaben, and thanks in advance for your commitment and hard work. Second, I have a question that I haven't seen asked: Since you are working on releasing version 1.5, does that mean that version 1.9.2 is going to be obsolete? It seems weird to me to .NET 2.0 be supported in 1.5 but there to be another 1.9.2 build. My suggestion would be to fuflly go up to release 2.0 for .NET 2.0 to avoid that confusion.
