sorry for asking that, but I really can't understand it.

Why you are using dnn?
It creates the worst html code I've ever seen and no one can fix that except the dev team...

I'm very interested why people still using it

Hey Tommy,

I would disagree with you that DNN creates the worst HTML code. The DNN core menu however is the culprit for most HTML errors. Don't forget it is free and have some cool features. The next version of DNN will make big step towards XHTML Compliance. If people use DNN and creates their own messy HTML it is not DNN Text Editor's fault.

I don't talk about the content html Smile
I was talking about the tons of (unused) tables it creates (dnn itself, not the theme)
Also the viewstate blows up the code massively. I can't believe that anything whats inside there is required.

For example the default page of dnnskins.com has a viewstate with a size of 8.748 Bytes.
Navigation starts at line 181, content at 450. If i was a search engine like google I would like to give up to retrive the content long before I reach it Wink

Yes, dnn is free, and yes it has some good ideas. You can upload skins / modules as zip file which I really liked.
But there are other CMS available for free, too. Thats why I'm asking.

The answer is very simple user base. Rainbow seems to have fallen by the way side somewhat imo, leaving DNN, Umbraco and Mojoportal.
Works needs to be done getting all the integration right with all three.

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon Smile )

hm haven't heard anything about mojoportal. I will have a look at it Smile
But the generated html looks good, much better as dnn. Don't know anything about the backend, but I'll see Smile
