Hi Folks, Just set up my first YAF installation - very cool One question - is there any way to configure the system so that all new users are automatically subscribed to a discussion? Basically I have an annoucements discussion that I want everyone to be subscribed to so that when I post something important everyone gets it in their inbox. Cheers, Peter.

Currently, that is not a feature of the forum. Good idea, though. No one else has requested it, I believe. "When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears”."

Wouldn't it be just as easy to write your post, then go to Admin and the Mail, and send a notice to the mailbox of all subscribed users that there is important info posted, or, if it's not too large, you can copy and paste all or part of your post and send it to their mailboxes. Remind users to set the option to be notified in their regular email address that they have mail at your forum.

This is a key feature that I need too. I will need to develop this functionality in the next week or so. I'll post my code if I get it right. I would very much like to see this built in though. It's key to keeping the boards interactive with notifications of postings. I would rather not have to rely on my users to figure out how to initially add themselves. The less I leave up them to do, the better.
