Hi

I am yet another of these guys having problems with the installation of Yet Another Forum. I have a surftown hosted server (Windows Advanced), and know for sure that asp.net is working. I am running asp.net 3.0. The forum is located in /forum/.

I have seen that I have to add a <root> tag in the yafnet.config, but I have no yafnet.config. I have a "recommended-web.config" which I tried to rename to "web.config" since that was also menioned in the help files.

Without any web.config, I can start the installation, but when I press "Next" in "Initialize/Upgrade Database", I get an object not initialized error. If I create the web.config (a copy of "recommended-web.config"Wink I cannot start anything, just get an asp.net error. I tried adding a <root> tag in my web.config, but there was no difference.

I have edited the connection string.

I have done nothing with my original web.config (located in the root folder). All the config files I am trying to use with YAF is located in the /forum/ folder together with the rest of YAF. Should I copy any of them to the root folder, or edit my root web.config in some way?

Thanks,
Degeim
