Hello Developer/Fellow User,

YAF Version :Yet Another Forum.net version 1.9.1.8
.Net Version: 2.0

My forum doesn't seem to be able to load picture for avatar as i can't find the browse button and only the selection of avatar from the forum is working.
Without Browse option:

With Browse option:

I take a look at the coding and found it do have this option for user to upload of their own picture. So what thing did I miss out in giving right or permission to activate the upload of picture?

I have another problem is if i select a avatar with gif animation, why does the gif become a screenshot in jpg format. Meaning the gif avatar is displaying with animation when i select it from the modify avatar, but when i went to any post that i had in the forum and view at the avatar it is not animated and is in jpeg format.

Animated GIF's for avatars are not supported. YAF uses images.aspx to display avatars, which changes the image to a jpg

I not sure what you question/problem is with avatars. Are the not loading?

I think he is meaning that on his forum the option to upload an avatar is not present.

If that is the case, then you need to go to the 'Host Settings' page and then go to the avatar section at the bottom, there are options there to 'Allow Avatar Uploading'

Animated GIFs are supported. You just need to go into Host Settings->Avatars and set the SIZE limit to a high value because animated gifs are large.

YAF will only resize/reformat the image if it needs to because the size is incorrect.

Ok Jaben, don't want to get into an arguement with the big dog but....

If I create an "2 frame" animated gif 10x10 pixles ,with frame one all blue and frame two all yellow, the resulting image is still only 10x10. If I upload it into v1.9.2 or v1.9.3.3 it doesn't work! Never has and I have some irritating users who love their moving pictures!!!!

Setting the max image size shouldn't have anything to do with the GIF89a engine not being able to read and render the file.

I had always thought that, because the images are handled indirectly, the streaming required to display animated GIF's just can't work.

The smilies work, because their pulled directly from the server. Avatars aren't.

So now, I'm lost!!!
