May I have some guidance? I'm building out a site now. I would like to integrate 1.9.3 as early as possible so as to minimize membership integration issues when my site gets closer to production. However I am still at least 45 to 60 days from go-live, and that will be beta.

If there is still architecture work being done on 1.9.3 I can/should probably wait. If work is focused on bug fixes it might make sense for me to grab the code and start working with it.

If it matters, I use the custom profile table provider.

Thanks

Hello -

I was wondering what the status was of 1.9.3 with roles and users? Also, I tried to use TortoiseSVN and was prompted for a login/pwd - when I used my standard Source Forge, it was denied. How do we gain access?

Thanks, and I'm excited to see this integrated with membership.

When will YAF v1.9.3 ship?

Hopefully by the summer it will "ship". I want to have a beta by the end of April.

Anything new you can feed to us who are starving for info?

As a guess - which I haven't clarified with Jaben whose still working on the custom profile provider. I would say end of Nov, beginning of Dec for the beta.

I personally still have a lot of error trapping and testing to do with the new custom Membership/Role providers.

No, mysql is not there yet. It'll be much easier to implement it though with provider model in place.

How can I download 1.9.3 I can't find it on sourceforge?

It's not available through 'download', but via 'SVN' (Subversion).
First time SVN user.
I tried to get it by CVS checkout, but couldn't find correct settings.
i tried
protokoll: pserver
protokoll paramters: none
server: yafdotnet.cvs.sourceforge.net
port: 443
respository folder: /svnroot/yafdotnet/trunk/yafsrc
username: none, anonymous, yafdotnet

i always get password prompt without success.
Shouldn't READ be public?

greatful for directing me correct, so I can try the code.

Hi...
First of all, as always i want to thank you for all the good work you do....Razz

I wanted to ask about Exception handle, i saw that part of the code not surround with try...catch blocks, is there any particular reason for that? the reason that i ask that is, some of my users getting errors that reveals the code, when it break...
Another thing, i added Server.HtmlEncode(), to any transaction to database in the code, and regex validation on the input from the user. to reduce sql injection attack. are you going to add this to the next version?
I saw that in version 1.9.3 you will add roles management, is that include, Code Access Security, and Identity Permission, to code blocks? Because i am working on deviding yaf.dll to several dell's in order to manage security level to each dll, based on its actions...

thanks...

Hi all. Great work on YAF. I am new to this board, so excuse me for not seeing information on this elsewhere.

I am interested in implementing the YAF forum on my site using an existing user SQL Server DB. Will 1.9.3 support that need? How will profiles be managed if user data is managed outside of the YAF DB?

Thanks in advance.

If your existing DB uses Membership/roles -- it will support it.
