YAF v1.9.1 RC1 (Dated 5/15/2007)

This is being released as RC1 due to adding URL rewriting engine to YAF.

Change Log:

  • Added URL Rewriting Engine to Distribution
  • Modified YAF to support direct link pagination
  • Fixed bug associated with "Find Users"
  • Modified default.config to support URL Rewriting (you must merge if upgrading)
  • Added "custom" user class option to support use of custom user interface.
  • Added YAFPro theme to the distribution.
  • Fixed issue with "So Fresh, So Clean" and IE6 (removed use of filters).
  • Fixed issues with Profile saving.
  • Fixed issues with user post count not going down when deleting a post.
  • Fixed issues with the forum post count not being correct when a post was deleted.
  • Added "YOUTUBE" BBCode that support YouTube.
  • Added new URL Rewriting class to YAF that support topic names and automatically caches info from the DB.
  • Fixed issue with login page having another login page link that recursed the path creation (issue for SEO).
  • Added option to remove member information from the front page.
  • Fixed issue with "Sponsership" post being cut off due to limitation in DB size of the field.
  • Other misc. bug fixes.

The database has changed! You will need to upgrade your database using the following after installing by visiting this YAF URL: /install/default.aspx

ALWAYS SUGGESTED THAT YOU BACKUP YOUR DATABASE BEFORE ATTEMPTING AN UPGRADE

After installation and setup it's suggested that you remove or rename your /install/ directory for security reasons. (This issue is fixed in future versions.)

REQUIRED: Merge changes from the new default.config with your web.config!

This release does not implement .NET v2.0 membership & roles. v1.9.3 is still in the pipeline and is a very different animal then this release.

There is a problem when you click the login button and not standing on the startpage. I get redirected to error.aspx.

Try here, view this post as guest and click on the "log in" you should get the same error.

I realy suxs at regexp, but this works... for now...

But it strips the returnurl parameter away, so the user will always be redirected to the startpage when login in...

    Code:
    <rewrite url="^~/(.+)?yaf_login.aspx*" to="~/$1Default.aspx?g=login" processing="stop" />

I "installed" this version of Yaf ( I use the term loosely) into its designated working directory, and its up and working fine, EXCEPT...

I'm not sure what I need to do to get the url re-writing working on the site. When I browse through threads, I still the standard dynamic page urls, such as..."/Default.aspx?g=topics&f=3".

Of course the url re-writing engine isn't magic, and I must have to do something at my end beyond just installing the new version of yaf, and turning on asp_asapi.dll. So...is there a tutorial on getting the url re-writing up and running for the forums?
I'm obviously a n00b when it comes to url re-writing (actually, most of my webknowledge belongs back in 1999).

puts on his flame-proof suit and awaits the inevitable

Nevermind..I'm a dumbass. I missed copying an important section from default.config into my existing web.config (namely, the hhtpmodules section). Lolz.
